See the Boswell Sisters Facebook page for a tribute to Paul. Edwin Frank Duchin (b. April 1, 1909 – d. Feb. 9, 1951), commonly known as Eddy Duchin or alternatively Eddie Duchin, was an American popular music pianist and bandleader during the 1930s and 1940s. Duchin was an American popular music pianist and bandleader during the 1930s and 1940s. In between personal appearances before New York socialites, Duchin found time to combine melody and rhythm under the Pepsodent sponsorship on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday nights on WJZ (NY). He was also heard on other programs such as “The Fire Chief” (NBC, 1935) and “The Victory Parade of Spotlight Bands” (Mutual, 1941). A tribute to Duchin can be found in “The Eddy Duchin Story,” which was released by Columbia in 1956. John Randolph Webb (b. April 2, 1920 – d. Dec. 23, 1982), commonly known as Jack Webb, was an American actor, television producer, director and screenwriter, most famous for his role as Joe Friday in the "Dragnet" franchise, which he created. He was also the founder of his own production company, Mark VII Ltd. His connections to the Boswell Sisters, besides being a stalwart fan of their music, was to cast Connee Boswell in the role of Savannah Brown in Webb's television show, "Pete Kelly's Blues."
